What to Bring to Your Boudoir Photo Session

Making the choice to book a boudoir photo session is one of the biggest gifts of self-love you can give yourself. I guarantee you will walk out of the session feeling more empowered than you’ve ever felt in your life. Yes, it’s that transformative of an experience, but what should you be walking into the session with?

Here are some suggestions that can help you feel the most at ease during your session, especially if you’ve got a few of those anxious butterflies flapping around in your stomach.

Bring A Few Different Items to Wear or Outfits to Your Boudoir Shoot

During your boudoir session, we will have time to shoot 3-4 outfits. Yes, nude is an “outfit” but it is in no way mandatory or expected – because this shoot is all about empowerment and you can’t feel empowered if you’re not comfortable. That’s why I’m all about having a number of different outfits or pieces that make you feel sexy and beautiful, or if you aren’t sure which you prefer, bring them! As always, I offer a consultation before your shoot to help you select what may work best for you.

Having options is never a bad thing. Keep in mind that you don’t have to wear lingerie either. If you feelgood, you will look good, no matter if it’s ripped jeans, a slouchy sweater, slinky dress, or even sweatpants!

In terms of lingerie, please don’t feel like you have to shop, but if you are tempted to get something new, here are some of our favorite places: Wear Commando (for a minimalist body suit that feels like butta!), Eberjay (timeless pieces you will wear again and again), Petticoat Fair (a local gem with more luxury pieces), and the ones you may already know…Skims, Victoria’s Secret, and Nordstrom.

Tune into Your Own Confidence and Grace

Going behind the lens takes guts. Let go of any expectations or judgments you may have about yourself and empower yourself as you walk into our studio exuding the utmost kindness to yourself. Embrace your flaws, strengths, and unique qualities. Remember, it's the imperfections that make us truly beautiful.
