The 4 Female Archetypes

Months ago, I was talking to a new business coach explaining what I do, working with women of all ages, in all their different facets and their different stages in life and try to capture it all in a transformational photoshoot and she stopped me and said, so you work with the 4 women archetypes?

I instantly thought back to a book I read years ago, “Women Who Run With the Wolves”. This book, connected something inside me from long ago with the woman I am now, it made me feel strong, capable, validated. Hearing someone else make this connection lit me up. I literally finished the call and have spent the last few months reading and researching obsessively all I can about the the 4 female archetypes.

At 47 years old, I’ve been all 4 archetypes at different times. Let me tell you about them.

MAIDEN

She is fresh, eager-eyed, playful, energetic, youthful and innocent. Her energy light and hopeful. Her zest for life and curiosity creates a magnetism that is hard to resist!

MOTHER

Nurturing, creative, protective and connected to nature. She loves. She gives. She commits. Her selflessness is only parallel by her fierceness.

WILD WOMAN

You feel her power as she comma cds the room. Unapologetic in her strength and magic. She epitomizes the soul of a woman. Big on introspection and raw in her emotions.

CRONE

Her quiet pretense and wise clarity make her the woman to go to for advice. She represents consciousness and experience.

We’ve ALL been each of this women, no matter your age/ stage in life. Hell, we get to be multiple of these women on any given day. That is our prerogative and maybe the reason why I love that I have curated my business to get to work with us all. Photographing the different versions of women is incredible. In each photoshoot, I get to play psychologist, dance buddy, hype girl, and confidant. Every photoshoot is different but every photoshoot feels familiar. Because I am her and she is me. Which probably explains why so many clients have become friends and anytime I go back through their photos I remember her energy, the feel of the shoot, and can’t help but smile.
