How Many Photos Do You Need from a Branding Photoshoot to Get the Most Out of Your Digital Footprint?
Alright here’s the deal, your online presence is often someone’s first (and sometimes only) interaction with you. If a potential customer lands on your website or social media page, and your branding doesn’t pass the vibe check, they’re not going to stick around. It’s a harsh reality but one that every entrepreneur or professional needs to address.
First impressions are everything, and if your images and brand aren’t representing the real you, there’s a good chance that you could be missing out on real opportunities.
I’m a big believer in capturing your authentic self in branding photography in order to showcase your value, voice and vision to the world. It’s so important that you have a collection of professional brand photographsthat effectively capture your true badass, self.
But how many photos do you need to maximize your visibility and make the biggest impact on your digital footprint? I get asked this question A LOT – so I thought it was prudent to get into it. Because who doesn’t want to get the most out of their branding photography session?
How Many Branding Photos Do You Need?
For most entrepreneurs, small business owners, and personal brands, 10–35 fully edited images from a branding session can give you a versatile image library to use across your digital sites. This amount allows you to collect a range of looks, moods, and uses without becoming overwhelming to manage (because, trust me, there is such a thing as too much).
At Valentina Portraiture, we offer three brand photography packages with special bonuses to use for digital marketing. Our packages include:
● La Grande - This includes 35 images with natural retouching and a private photo reveal/selection appointment approximately 2 weeks after your photo session.
● La Mezza - 20 images with the same image selection process.
● La Piccola - 10 images with the same image selection process.
In lieu of a physical product, branding clients also receive various digital marketing bonuses depending on the package they choose, including a Facebook banner or Instagram collage, as well as short videos to format into reels. You can read more about my packages and pricing here.
Struggling to Decide? Consider What You Are Using the Photos For
Your final image count really depends on where and how you plan to show up online. Most of my branding clients are looking to fill photography needs across multiple platforms, including their website, social media accounts, email marketing, blogs, and in press or features. You want to ensure consistency across marketing channels, but that doesn’t mean using the same image repeatedly. That’s why it’s so important that you have a sufficient stock of photos to rotate online.
How Frequently Should You Refresh Your Brand Photography?
The second most frequently asked question I get about branding photography is how often you should refresh your image library. The answer depends on how you view your personal and brand evolution. If you’re unsure when you should refresh your brand photography, here are some considerations to keep in mind here. Every couple years is a good rule of thumb.
